Be careful not to enter San
Diego's class B on climb out. |
Things to do at or near the airport. |
There are some good breakfast places in
town but you'll need a ride. Town is 3 miles away. |

5.0 Great airport, nice
FBO's, nice area nothing else to do. This airport screams
for fly-in breakfast place. |

Landing at the Ramona
Airport |
|
The last time I landed in Ramona was 1972 and I
can say the airport has improved. Control Tower, Jet Center and 3
nice FBO's .The runway and ramp has been improved but there is
nothing for one to do. What a great place for an airport restaurant.
Less than an hour from both Los Angeles and San Diego and outside
the hustle of Class B and C airspace. Maybe someday...
My friend met me in his car and we went to
town for Breakfast. The City of Ramona lays in the foothills and has
kept it's rural charm. The surrounding area is very pretty and just
15 minutes from Rancho Bernardo. This would be a better choice than
other San Diego airports if you need to visit North San Diego
County.
For now, Ramona is just a good controlled airport
for students needing cross country time.
