GA tie down parking is a long ways from the Jet Center. Call on
the radio for a ride or have the phone number handy so they
come get you. Allow time to get back to your aircraft. The
airport manager has this place locked down like Area 51. |

Why Montrose
Colorado? |
|
The newest National Park in the United States,
Black Canyon of the Gunnison's is a small national park but it has an
unique and spectacular landscape. The entire south rim can be seen
in one day even with a hike or two. At places the canyon is 1200'
wide and over 2300' deep. No other canyon in North America combines
the narrow opening, sheer walls, and startling depths offered by the
Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
The Black Canyon visitor center is located
about 40
miles east of Montrose off highway 50. Take a lunch because
no food is sold in the park. I didn't find a great place to eat but,
there is a Cowboy Steak place just east of town called The Red Barn
that's worth a stop.

This place is amazing, a
camera doesn't do the place the justice it needs. |
